Marina is one of those extraordinary individuals.The youngest of seven children, Marina grew up as the youngest of seven children in a lively and loving household, where she learned early the values of family, respect, and togetherness. Inspired by her mother’s elegance and diligence her father’s strong sense of humor. In addition, through the constant love of her older siblings, she developed a warm, cheerful spirit, a gift for conversation, and a natural ability to connect with others. Those early years in a big, nurturing family helped shape the kind, thoughtful, and resilient woman she would become.

1976

Born on October 3, 1976, in the historic coastal city of Saint-Marc, Haiti, Dr. Marina Nezius has built a life defined by faith, perseverance, excellence, and service. Raised in a nation rich in resilience, faith, and cultural pride, she learned early the values of education, discipline, and community. She completed her primary education at Mère St. Alvire and continued her secondary studies at CIM in Port-au-Prince.

1993

In 1993, with hope, determination, and dreams for a brighter future, Marina emigrated to the United States and landed in Orlando, Florida. Shortly after, she moved to New Jersey for greater opportunities. After graduating from Elizabeth High School, Elizabeth, New Jersey. She then attended Rutgers University, where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Education in French Studies in May of 2001.

2001

In September of 2001 Marina started her public service career in the field of education and began working immediately for the New Jersey Department of Education. With 25 years of distinguished service in New Jersey’s public schools, she has devoted her career to cultivating excellence in education, mentoring future leaders, and advocating for equitable opportunities for all students.

2005

Longing to build a family of her own, Marina married the love of her life, Adlin on October 2, 2005, just one day before her birthday anniversary. The timing made the occasion even more meaningful, transforming the celebration of her birth into a season of love, commitment, and new beginnings. Since then, October 2 and October 3 have become intertwined in her heart a double blessing that honors both the sacred bond of marriage and the gift of life.

2009

In March 2009, Marina experienced one of the most profound joys of her life when she welcomed her first child into the world. The arrival of her precious baby Monroe marked the beginning of a new and transformative chapter, one filled with unconditional love & a deep sense of purpose. Embracing motherhood with the same grace, determination, and compassion that define her character, Marina poured her heart into nurturing and guiding her child.

2011

In 2011, she expanded her professional expertise in business by obtaining her New Jersey Real Estate License, helping families achieve the dream of homeownership while investing in real estate with vision, discipline, and determination.What began as a dream evolved into a thriving enterprise built on integrity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to service.

2018

Her dedication to faith and servant leadership led her to Drew University, where she pursued studies in Theology and Ministry MDiv from 2016 to 2018, deepening her understanding of spiritual formation, ordination and pastoral care. Guided by her heart for a calling in ministry, Marina is committed to inspiring, servicing, and uplifting others.

2008

Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Nezius earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Principal from Kean University in 2008. With a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Principal in the State of New Jersey, Marina was able to apply for her Supervisor and Principalship License. Her dedication to continued growth reflects her passion for inspiring others and making a lasting impact in education.

2010

In April 2010, Marina welcomed her second child. With the arrival of David, her family continued to flourish, bringing new joy, laughter, and purpose to her life. As a devoted mother, Marina embraced the challenges and rewards of raising two young children with true love, patience, and dedication. This new chapter deepened her appreciation for family as she provided a nurturing home where her children could grow, thrive, and pursue their dreams.

2015

Driven by her passion for helping others and her desire to create new opportunities within the community, Marina proudly became a business owner by opening her first real estate office in Irvington, New Jersey. This was more than just a business venture, the opening of her office represented Marina’s belief in the power of entrepreneurship, community development, and economic empowerment.

2024

In 2024, she reached the pinnacle of her academic journey by earning her Doctorate in Education and Leadership from Kean University. A milestone that reflects decades of perseverance, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth. This remarkable achievement represents her belief that education, leadership and service can transform lives and create lasting impact.

2026

In 2026, Marina chose to celebrate her fifty extraordinary years of life, faith, purpose and impact. Recognizing that no journey is traveled alone, she has chosen to mark this Golden milestone with the people who have been part of her village, those whose love, wisdom, encouragement, and support helped her uncover, develop,and embrace her fullest potential. This Golden Jubilee celebration is a tribute to the relationships, experiences, and blessings that have shaped her journey. It is also an expression of gratitude. Together, we will honor fifty remarkable years of grace, resilience, and achievement and look forward the limitless blessings and opportunities that lie ahead.
